Description: Part of a monthly subscription series of three woodblock prints issued by the Yamato Hanga Kanko-kai in ca. 1924.

This triptych elegantly captures a scene of early-morning respite, with three beauties seated inside a translucent mosquito net beside their futons. Each woman displays a unique gesture of weariness after what seems to have been a long night: one holds a fan, another adjusts her hair, while the third gently bites a white handkerchief.

Three other beauties are standing beyond the net. On the left, one secures the mosquito net, the figure in the center fastens her obi, while the woman on the right—likely a courtesan’s assistant—holds a kimono, ready for her to don.

The mosquito netting, skillfully rendered with meticulous detail and subtle transparency, allows us to see the figures within, adding a delicate, layered quality to the composition.

The dimensions given are for each print.

There is foxing on the middle and the left sheet. Also, there are traces of glue removal on the back of this print.
