Thank you for your patience!] This edition of Hokusai's iconic image had its origins in the autumn of 2014, being offered to the backers of a Mokuhankan Kickstarter campaign being run to help raise funds for the building of the new shop in the Asakusa district of Tokyo. The print is based on a copy in the Metropolitan Museum of Art - every line carefully re-traced and then cut into hard cherry wood. Our print is made on the famous Echizen Hosho washi from the workshop of Mr. Ichibei Iwano, a Living National Treasure.
