Designer: Masanobu Kano

Description: A wonderful reproduction in the woodblock medium of an original painting from the Kano School. This was produced in 1983 by the Kyoto publisher Tanseisha, and is one of a set of similar editions they produced at that time.
The prints are on a large scale, and took a very large number of blocks to make. This one is listed in their catalogue at 70 printing impressions. The carving team was led by Uetani Sadao, and the printers by Yoneda Kurazo.
Here's the full print by itself, without the enclosing folder:
Each sheet carries the names of the craftsmen:
The publisher's information is also stamped on the print. It was issued as a limited edition of 200; this is copy #29
The seal at bottom right (here woodblock printed, of course) is that of Kano Masanobu, the original painter. The original painting is a Japanese National Treasure, and information on it can be found on the Japanese government's website here.
The reverse side of the paper; it is clean and clear, with three very small foxing spots visible.
This gives a better impression of the size of the print ...
