Ukiyoe Heroes : production ...

Posted by Dave Bull on August 19, 2012 [Permalink]

For those who have been wondering when production of all those Ukiyoe Heroes prints will begin, I can let you know that we are indeed now actually under way. Here's a quick shot of the top layer of my print pack as I packed it up this evening:

Those prints aren't finished of course; I'm just shy of half-way through the impressions on this batch of 60 sheets. (I can't do more than 60 at a time just now, because the weather is way too hot and humid for me to get through more than this at one 'sitting'.)

And for those of you waiting for the next update video message, I can tell you that my part of it is now in the can. Jed will add a segment at his end over the weekend, and we'll then be publishing our plans for the final third of the Kickstarter campaign. Here are a couple of frames from the video (that's young printer Teiko-san in the background):

If someone would have told me a month ago that I would spend most of my free time in the month of August looking at blogs and videos of woodblock prints, I would have called that person crazy.

Anyway I can't wait for my woodblock prints to arrive (even tho I know I will have to wait a while) and I'am curious to see what you guys have planned for the final third of the kickstarter project.

Robin,

woodblock prints and Dave's work are very addictive, I been following him for over 14 years and you should see my monthly therapy bill :)
