Time for another visit to the world of 'A Story A Week', the long-running collection from woodblock printmaker David Bull.

Can I really say 'long-running' just yet? After all, this is only the fifth volume in the series; surely that description should come after say, ten years or so of continuous production! Well, perhaps. But it seems to me that 130-odd stories in a series - published continuously at a pace of one every week - is a bit of an achievement, and speaking as the person who has to write, edit and record them all, yes, long-running sounds about right!

Some time from now, when there are ten years of stories under my belt, how will I describe the series? I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!

I hope you have a pleasant time reading these stories. I have a good time writing them (although I do constantly struggle to try and get each one kept down to a manageable length), and always appreciate hearing any feedback. The next collection will appear in another six months; if you can't wait, then please visit the website, where you can read a new one every week:

Important note on the Printed version: If you are located in the US, it is far cheaper for you to obtain this book from Lulu, the 'print on demand' service. They will run off single copies to order, and the printing quality is very good. (This doesn't work for people living in other areas, as Lulu charges exorbitant shipping rates for addresses out of the US)

About the eBook version: The book has been slightly altered from the physical version; the Japanese vocabulary sections have been omitted, leaving all the English text untouched. The Table of Contents within this pdf version is also 'hot' - clicking on any story title will jump you to the corresponding page. The entire text of the book is also accessible with the 'search' function of your pdf reader. More information on the Mokuhankan eBooks - their format, how to use them, how to download them, and other relevant details, along with a free download sample you can inspect - can be found on this page.
